Arts Market Readiness & Capacity Building
Strategic preparation for artists and arts professionals to succeed at national and international arts markets
Are you an arts council, foundation, or service organization supporting artists and their representatives?
Or an artist or artist manager who wants to ensure your time, money, and presence at key industry gatherings actually lead to concrete opportunities?
I work with artists, artist managers, and the organizations that support them to turn major B2B arts events into strategic career accelerators—not lost chances.
I provide targeted training that helps participants confidently navigate and maximize industry gatherings across Canada, the Americas, and beyond, such as CINARS, CAPACOA, ISPA, APAP|NYC, Western Arts Alliance, Fall for Dance North IPP, TCG National Conference, and Latin American festival mercados.
Participants gain practical, immediately usable tools for:
- Strategic pre-event preparation and goal-setting
- Effective, purposeful networking
- Clear and compelling self-presentation
- Strong applications for showcases, pitches, and conference sessions
The outcome: artists and representatives are better positioned to place work in dance, theatre, music, circus, and interdisciplinary practices with international presenters, agents, and funders. Many of these strategies also translate effectively to the visual arts sector.
Jennifer delivered a highly engaging, insightful briefing session for performing arts practitioners to help them prepare for the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo. She worked closely with our team in advance to ensure the session was well planned and tailored to the audience. The content she delivered was informative, relevant, and clearly aligned with the needs and interests of the practitioners.
Drawing on her extensive and diverse experience across international performing arts markets, Jennifer is exceptionally well versed in presenting complex information in a clear, engaging, and practical manner. Her sharing offered concrete, real-world insights and actionable advice that participants could readily apply to their own professional contexts. Importantly, she also highlighted critical issues that are often overlooked by practitioners, helping to broaden the audience’s understanding of the international landscape.
We were delighted to have the opportunity to work with Jennifer and greatly value her professionalism, expertise, and generous sharing of knowledge.

Training is available on-site or online, delivered as presentation sessions with Q&A, focused small-group seminars, or individual coaching.
I bring both the inside perspective of a frequent juror and selector and the practical needs of artists into the room. I have delivered this training for events including Classical:NEXT and the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo, and have served on numerous selection and grant juries at municipal, national, and international levels. I am also a certified teacher (University of Cambridge).
